We call it our banana-versary because when Ben and I were dating I called him my grease monkey (he works on cars for those of you who don't know). So one particular anniversary, Ben sent me a card on-line of these two monkeys swinging around, and it said happy banana-versary. It just stuck. :)
So 4-months! We have officially been married for 1/3 of a year. That in itself seems like a long time. We have definitely had some rough patches over the past four months. In fact, we have probably had a few more rough patches than either of us figured on. They weren't in our relationship, just in some different things we went through. But even so....wouldn't it be nice to have a patch of smooth sailing! I suppose it means we are right where we should be...or even better than we should be. They say the first year is the hardest with all of the adjustments (which no one ever tells you what those are). So, I suppose that since we have made it through our rough patches just fine, we are doing better than expected.
Did that last paragraph make any sense?
Anyway....going through difficulties together definitely brings you closer and makes you realize how blessed you are to have the other person in your life. Ben has been such an amazing support to me over the past month and a half as I have been working through my own rough season. It was a season we knew we would need to go through, but even still, weren't sure what would arise.
I can say, without a doubt, that I have married that most wonderful man in the whole world! (Hey, I can be biased if I want - he's my husband!) And I am so thankful to have him in my life and to know that he cares about me so deeply and is committed to me and us 10000000000%!
Happy banana-versary baby! You are the best monkey ever. :)
