She used to cuddle with mommy in the mornings, as we were waking up to start the day. But lately, she goes to daddy's side of the bed when she wants to snuggle in the mornings. ~sigh~ Mommy has been replaced!
Not really...Tussey is still my girl. We have been together for a little over three years now. Tussey will celebrate her third birthday in August (she even shares Ben's birthday month)!
She is a spaz....usually tearing around the house chasing a tennis or golf ball. She LOVES to play with anything around. Her current favorite toy is an empty water bottle. She will kick it and chase
Tussey has self-proclaimed 9:30pm to be her bedtime. The nightly routine is that she heads to our bedroom about that time, to which one of us will usually say, "Tussey, are you going night-night?" Then she will turn around, look at us for a moment, and come trotting back, apparently deciding that if mommy and daddy aren't going to bed, it must not be her bedtime either.
Then somewhere around 10:30pm when we are ready for bed, we will say, "Tussey, let's go night-night." To which she will go running into our room, get straight into her puppy bed, curl up and go to sleep. Of course, she's more likely to go running to bed when it's daddy who makes the suggestion. But every once in a while she listens to mommy too.
Tussey's favorite treats are her puppy cookies (they look like oreos, but for dogs), cottage cheese with a little bit of raspberry jello powder mixed in, pineapple (that's her very favoritest!), ice-cream (usually a last little lick or two of mommy's vanilla) and if she's really good, a taste or two of chocolate pudding!
Unfortunately, Tussey has quite the chocolate fetish...which is dangerous as it is deadly to dogs (chocolate, not fetishes). One Halloween, when mommy had hurt her back and was on lots of pain killers, Tussey knocked over the bowl of candy and ate about a dozen miniature kit-kats - wrappers and all! Apparently she didn't care for anything else.
Needless to say, not all was well in the tummy department, but we were able to bring about a "solution" before the candy could harm her. So, now we give her a taste every once in a while, in the hopes that it satisfies the fetish so she won't go looking for trouble again. Hmmm....somehow the logic doesn't seem to work out on that one, does it?
Yep, Tussey is our girl and we love her. She has been with me through so much, and she is always there when I need her. Life just wouldn't be the same without her!
