We are moving one week from today! We are scheduled to sign all our loan papers on Monday, get our keys on Wednesday and move on Saturday. It should be a full week of packing (yeah)! I am hoping the packing will come a little easier now that we will be out of here in a week. It's hard to pack and have boxes sitting in your living room when you are still living there (especially when there isn't a ton of extra space to begin with). Yup, not the greatest motivator!
It hit me this past week that we would be leaving our first home together as husband and wife. And yes I did cry...quite a bit. What can I say, I get attached. Ben took it in stride. It's been a great apartment for us...full of many great memories, like our first Christmas together. I will miss it. But as Ben said to me, those are the memories you make and take with you to the next place, they don't disappear just because you move on. (He's so wise.) But, we are very much looking forward to owning our own place and to having more room (and a laundry room).
Tussey hasn't quite figured out what's going on yet. She was just sitting on the couch kind of watching as we packed the first round of boxes, looking a little unsure. She gets that way when we move, pack up the car for road trips, or to go camping. She knows something is up, she just doesn't know if she gets to be part of it or not. :) This will be her fourth home with me.
My routine with her is to get most everything moved and then to take her, with her bed, to the new place, and to put it in its place with her there. Its my way of letting her know that this is her new home. I think she will love it. There will be tons more room for her to run around and explore (and get into trouble, I am sure). But there will be less chance of a repeat with the swallowing of rocks - which she is STILL chewing on, despite our best efforts (for those of you who followed that story)!
Once we get settled I will try to post some pictures of our new place so you can see the insides. (Um, it might take me a little bit, so thanks in advance for your patience!)
