Get a JOB!

I have been offered a job!
Thank you GOD!

For the past six weeks it has been a process of me sending out hundreds of resumes and getting one of the following responses:

  • None
  • We are just beginning our search, we will contact you after we have reviewed your resume - which usually resulted in no contact beyond that email.
  • Thanks for sending us your resume, but, uh, you just don't have what it takes
  • Thanks for sending us your resume, but we have decided to move forward with far more qualified people
  • Thanks for sending us your resume, how about an interview, after which we will not offer you the job and inform you that we have decided to move forward with far more qualified people

It was starting to get a little old....and very frustrating. I was beginning to think I was going to be in the category of the four or five other people who had told me, in the midst of my journey, that it had taken them a YEAR to find a job. Thanks!

But, last Thursday I got a call back on my resume from a local preschool. I went in on Monday and interviewed and then had a chance to hang out with the kids for about a half hour. I got to interact with them and also with the teachers at the preschool, to see if it was somewhere I wanted to be.

I loved it! It was fun and busy and full of cute little people all about a foot and a half high.

So, I waited - having a lot more peace after this interview than I had after a few past interviews I had gone through. Thursday I got the call. The owner had loved me as soon as she met me and felt like I would be a great fit. Apparently the day of the interview I had not even gotten out the door and to my car, and the two teachers were already asking the owner if she wanted their two cents. They both apparently loved me too and wanted her to hire me. They kept asking her if she had called and offered me the job yet. So, I accepted the job yesterday and will start on Monday, October 29th!

I am so excited about this job. It is completely different than what I had originally been on the lookout for, but with all of the closed doors that I kept getting, Ben and I were praying that the right job would be offered to me. Ben told me that he is very excited for me and that he is proud of me for sticking with this process, even through some very difficult and disappointing situations. That meant more to me than anything!!!

I am so thankful that even in my frustration and anxiety of wanting to find a job right away, so that our bills could be paid and I could start settling in to something, that God waited until the right job came along to open it up to me. I am not the most patient person and I know that will be something God continually works on in my life (ugh), but I am learning, slowly, that His timing is best and that He knows what will ultimately make me happy...even when I am not sure. He has a way of suprising me with really amazing things....kind of like Ben! :)

Thank you God for answering ALL of the prayers that were prayed in this situation. You are so good to me!

Blessed
